FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How are Soulfull Life retreats different from church or Bible study groups?

Soulfull Life retreats aren’t meant to replace your church, Bible study, or women’s group - they’re designed to complement them. Church is where we’re discipled over time. A retreat, on the other hand, offers a sacred rest - a space to step away, reflect, and let God speak to you in the quiet. It’s time to listen more deeply and return refreshed to your everyday faith walk.

Do your retreats replace church or other faith communities?

No. I deeply value the role of the church in spiritual growth. Soulfull Life exists alongside that - a space for personal renewal, creative reflection, and soul-level conversation. I often say: church helps us grow together, but retreats help us hear what God is stirring within.

What can I expect to experience during a Soulfull Life retreat?

Each retreat weaves together moments of movement, meditation, creativity, and spiritual growth - what I call the four pillars of Soulfull Life. You can expect a mix of guided reflection, gentle stretching or nature walks, creative journaling, small-group sharing, and quiet personal time. There’s always laughter, prayer, and a sense of peace that comes from stepping away and slowing down. Please listen to these testimonials to hear first hand how about the experience!

Who are these retreats designed for?

These retreats are created for women who love Jesus and want to grow closer to Him - especially those longing for a more personal, creative, and authentic faith experience. Many women who come describe feeling spiritually “stuck” or simply stretched thin. You don’t need to be part of a particular denomination or stage of life to belong here; just come as you are.

What makes Soulfull Life retreats different from large conferences or women’s ministry events?

Whereas big conferences often leave you inspired but overwhelmed, Soulfull Life retreats are intentionally small and intimate. I limit each retreat to just a handful of women so we can go deeper -  in conversation, reflection, and connection. There’s no performance, no pressure, and no sitting in the back row trying to find your place. Every woman is seen, heard, and valued here.

I’ve had mixed experiences with church. Will I feel out of place?

Not at all. I understand that many women carry complicated feelings about church - I’ve been there, too. These retreats are a space of healing and reconnection, not judgment. My hope is that you experience the heart of God here in a way that reminds you of His goodness and gently draws you back to community in His timing.

What types of sessions or activities are included?

A typical day might include:

  • A gentle movement or stretch session to quiet the mind and connect with your body.

  • Guided meditations and scripture-based reflection prompts.

  • Creative exercises like journaling, art, crafts, or prayer-writing.

  • Small-group discussion and personal quiet time.

  • A closing time of prayer, gratitude, or shared insight. Every session is crafted to help you slow down, hear God’s voice, and leave feeling renewed.

Why do you include physical activity as part of a Christian retreat?

Because movement clears the mind and makes room for the Spirit. For me, physical activity - whether it’s a slow stretch, a walk outdoors, or gentle yoga - helps me release distractions and be more present with God. I’ve found that my conversations with Him often start somewhere between breath and movement.

Do I have to do movement exercises? I’m not athletic (or it’s not my thing).

No worries at all! The movement portion is always optional and completely beginner-friendly. It’s more about connecting body, mind, and spirit than achieving a pose. If you’d rather take a quiet walk or simply sit in reflection, that’s perfectly welcome. Everything is invitational, never forced.

Do I need to belong to a certain church or denomination to attend?

Not at all. Soulfull Life welcomes women from all Christian backgrounds -  and even those who are still exploring what Christian faith means to them. The focus is simply Jesus: growing in relationship with Him through stillness, creativity, and community.

What if I come alone? Will I fit in?

Absolutely. Many women attend alone - and by the end of the day, no one feels like a stranger. Because our groups are small, there’s plenty of time to form real connections. Whether you’re an introvert or an extrovert, you’ll find space to both reflect privately and share in meaningful conversation.

How do you create a peaceful, unplugged environment?

We intentionally choose calm, comfortable settings that invite stillness. Phones stay tucked away as much as possible, TVs stay off, and the day unfolds slowly. It’s an opportunity to truly disconnect from the noise - and reconnect with God.

What size are your retreats?

In-home mini retreats are typically 5–7 women. Future weekend retreats will also remain intentionally small to preserve that sense of intimacy and depth that makes Soulfull Life so special.

Do you host retreats for groups or women’s ministries?

Yes! Soulfull Life retreats can be adapted for small groups, Bible studies, or women’s ministries who want to experience the same flow of reflection, creativity, and movement together. You can reach out directly if your group would like to plan a private retreat.

What’s your approach to yoga and faith?

The yoga-inspired sessions are always Christ-centered and prayerful - focused on breath, gratitude, and stillness. I view it simply as one form of gentle movement that makes space for God’s presence. You’ll never find chanting or spiritual language outside the Christian faith - only space to breathe, stretch, and rest in Him.

What if I have physical limitations or injuries?

You’re welcome here exactly as you are. Before each retreat, I ask about any physical considerations so that everything can be adapted for your comfort. The goal is never performance -  it’s presence.
